Hospitality

All of our hospitality teams play a huge role in creating the District Experience! These teams are fundamental in creating a welcoming environment that makes District feel like home.


Small Groups

Our Small Group teams help us prepare and effectively launch a wide variety of small groups each season!


Outreach

Our Outreach teams allow us, District Church, to be the hands and feet of Jesus, as we fulfill the Great Commission by being His witnesses in our communities and beyond.

Guest Experience Roles


  • Breakfast Team

    The Breakfast Team provides breakfast to the Worship & Production team on Sunday mornings. The Worship & Production team volunteers from 7am-1pm, so the Breakfast Team blesses them with some nourishment to get through the day.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Deliver (or have breakfast ready in the kitchen) by 8:30-8:45am on Sunday mornings.
    • Frequency: Once a month or once every other month.
  • Auditorium Usher

    The Auditorium Ushers help welcome people into church and guide them to their seats. This team is not afraid to step in and offer assistance, making sure everyone feels at ease and gets settled comfortably.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Two back-to-back services preferred. Show up 30 minutes prior to your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month.
  • Containers

    The Container Team provides one of the first impressions at District Church. This team serves as a first touch to connect a guest to their next steps, get first-time families checked in, answer questions, and more.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Two back-to-back services preferred. Show up 30 minutes prior to your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month.


  • Greeters

    The Greeting Team is the heart of the District experience; a new guest's first encounter is most likely with you. It is this team's main goal to be welcoming and make sure each guest has the same excellent experience.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Two back-to-back services preferred. Show up 30 minutes prior to your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month.
  • Parking Team

    The Parking Team facilitates cars and traffic flow for efficient and effective arrivals and departures. In addition to parking cars, this team provides hospitality at the first touch point of a guest’s experience.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Two back-to-back services preferred. Show up 30 minutes prior to your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month.

Cafe Roles


  • High School Volunteer

    Our Cafe Student Volunteers at our high school-run cafe assist with preparing and serving food and beverages, ensuring quality and timeliness. They manage customer interactions, handle cash or digital payments, and contribute to maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One service. Show up 15 minutes before your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month.
  • Adult Leader

    Our Adult Cafe Leaders oversee our student-led cafe, providing guidance on operations, ensuring the team adheres to safety, hygiene, and service standards. They mentor students on customer service, fostering teamwork and professional skills, while supporting their creativity and independence in managing the cafe.

    • Times: One service. Show up 15 minutes before your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month.

Facilities Roles


  • Campus Clean Up & Maintenance

    The Campus Clean Up & Maintenance Team will get and keep our campus Sunday-ready, prepping the campus the morning of, checking restrooms after each service, being an extra set of eyes to keep the campus clean, assisting with other issues that may arise, and doing so with a smile on their face!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Varies based on needs of a specific Sunday.
    • Frequency: Once a month.
  • Thursday Landscape Crew

    The Thursday Landscape Crew comes in every Thursday to do various landscape projects or help maintain the campus grounds - trimming trees, watering plants, etc.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: A couple hours on Thursday mornings.
    • Frequency: Once a week.
  • Builds & Trades Team

    The Builds & Trades Team is an ongoing roster of people with special skills or experience in trade areas (electricians, carpenters, etc.) that are willing to put those skills to work when various projects arise!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Based on individual projects.
    • Frequency: As projects arise.


Safety Roles


  • Sunday Safety Team

    The Sunday Safety Team protects the excellent experience for our guests at District. They help create a safe yet friendly environment and ensure our guests know the kids are safe when they arrive to District.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One Service. Show up 30 minutes before your scheduled service and prepare to serve for the entirety of that service.
    • Frequency: At least once a month.
    • Our Safety Team goes through a special training.
    • Live Scan Required.
  • Weekday Safety Team

    The Weekday Safety Team protects the campus for our students at The Academy. They help ensure a safe environment for our young learners. Other weekday options could include Family Nights, Youth nights, special events, etc.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Varies depending on school schedule or event.
    • Frequency: As needed per school schedule or event.
    • Our Safety Team goes through a special training.
    • Live Scan Required.

Prayer Roles


  • Prayer Team

    The Prayer Team is readily available to pray with people at the end of each service. This team also spends time throughout the week, praying for any requests that come in. We trust members of this team to be respectful of any confidential requests or sensitive situations people may want prayer over.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One service; be available towards the end of the scheduled service.
    • Frequency: In person, one or two Sundays a month. On your own time, throughout the week as prayer requests come in.

Nursery & Preschool Roles


  • Nursery Volunteer

    Our Nursery Volunteers get to share the the love of Jesus with both children and parents by making sure they feel comfortable and loved, making the transition of dropping off their little ones easy and fun, and creating a loving, faith-based environment through play, stories, snuggles, and smiles!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One service. Show up 10-15 minutes before your scheduled service starts and stay until every child is picked up and the room is reset for the next service.
    • Frequency: As little as once every 6 weeks to every week and an occasional Family Night (Wednesday night).
    • Live Scan Required.
  • Preschool Volunteer

    Our Preschool Volunteers engage with children from the moment of drop off all the way through worship, Bible stories, and prayer. This team uses puzzles, play, coloring, crafts, and object lessons to connect with kids and reinforce the Bible Story of the day.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One service. Show up 10-15 minutes before your scheduled service starts and stay until every child is picked up and the room is reset for the next service.
    • Frequency: As little as once every 6 weeks to every week and an occasional Family Night (Wednesday night).
    • Live Scan Required.

Kids District Roles


  • Check In/Out

    Our Check In/Out Team welcomes new and returning families and manages the process of getting name tags printed for each child before service starts. This team also facilitates the Check Out process at the end of service. A person who works well on this team is proficient with technology and is outgoing, able to get down on the children's level to help them feel welcome and help parents feel at ease as they check their kids in.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One Service. Show up 20 minutes prior to your scheduled service and be present at the end of service for Check Out.
    • Frequency: One to four times a month.
    • Volunteers can be 9th grade and up.
    • No Live Scan Required as you'll remain in the lobby areas primarily interacting with adults.
  • Kids District Volunteer

    Our Kids District Volunteers support the lead teacher by interacting with kids before and after service and leading them through planned activities to help them discover Biblical truths. Consistent attendance is vital to this ministry to provide kids the opportunity to build trusting relationships with the volunteers.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One Service. Show up 20 minutes prior to your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month.
    • Volunteers can be 8th grade and up.
    • Live Scan Required for Age 18+ Volunteers.
  • Kids Production/Tech

    Our Kids Production/Tech Team runs our Miner's Market store prior to service starting, and then supports the lead teacher by operating the lighting, audio, and visual systems during the service. This team is great for those who can be attentive throughout the service and who will be positive role models for the younger children. No experience required for tech!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One Service. Show up 20 minutes prior to your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month.
    • Volunteers can be 5th grade and up.
    • Live Scan Required for Age 18+ Volunteers.

District 45 Roles


  • D45 Leader

    Our D45 Leaders hang out and have fun with our 4th and 5th grade students. This is a high-energy, great group of kids looking for adults who will hang with them, encourage them, and challenge them. This team also assists the D45 Leader in setting up, managing the class, and facilitating small group discussions.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One Service. D45 meets during the 10am & 11:30am services. Show up 10-15 minutes before your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Twice a month preferred. Or more!
    • Volunteers can be High School and older.
    • Live Scan Required for Age 18+ Volunteers.

District Haven Roles

Special Needs Ministry

  • Buddy

    Our District Haven Buddies support students with special needs to participate to their full potential in the typical ministry activities such as crafts, worship, and fellowship with their peers, especially in small groups, as they are able! Buddies ensure their student is safe at all times and maintain their student's privacy. Buddies are there to be a friend, a role model, and a partner!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One Service. Arrive 20 minutes before the start of your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Once or twice a month.
    • Live Scan Required for Age 18+ Volunteers.

Middle School Roles


  • Sunday Morning Adult Leader

    Our Sunday Morning Middle School Adult Leaders help facilitate deeper conversation and connections in a smaller group setting. After a large group message for the day, leaders gather 5-8 students for a breakout discussion with an emphasis on diving deeper into the daily lesson with guided questions and scripture.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: One Service. Middle School meets during the 10am & 11:30am services. Show up 10 minutes prior to your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: Once a month to every weekend.
    • Live Scan Required for Age 18+ Volunteers.
  • Monthly Events Team

    Our Monthly Events Team helps put on a once a month themed event packed full of games, activities, and a short message. The goal of these hangouts is to be in fellowship with likeminded people, and for us as leaders to get to know the kids better!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Show up a little bit prior to event time to help with setup if you can!
    • Frequency: Once a month on a Friday night.
    • Live Scan Required for Age 18+ Volunteers.
  • Wednesday Night Adult Leader (launching in March 2025)

    Our Wednesday Night Middle School Adult Leaders help facilitate deeper conversation and connections in a smaller group setting. After a large group message, leaders gather 5-8 students for a breakout discussion with an emphasis on diving deeper into the daily lesson with guided questions and scripture.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Services will begin at 7pm. Show up 10 minutes prior to service start time.
    • Frequency: Twice a month preferred but we'll take volunteers as available!
    • Live Scan Required for Age 18+ Volunteers.

District Youth Roles


  • Wednesday Night Adult Leader

    Our Wednesday Night Adult Leaders exist to create relationships with students. This team is ready and available to jump in wherever help is needed, but their primary roles are interacting with students, being ready to pray over students, and engaging in deep conversations when students need guidance. Consistent attendance is vital to this ministry to provide students the opportunity to build trusting relationships with the adult leaders.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Show up at 6:30pm on Wednesday Nights for a Team Huddle before a 7pm service start time.
    • Frequency: Every Wednesday night (except for Family Nights).
    • Adult Leaders can be 18 and older.
    • Live Scan Required.
  • Student Leadership Team

    Our Student Leadership Team exists to serve their peers and create the culture of District Youth. From setup to teardown, running games and announcements, sharing testimonies, and engaging in both Wednesday and Sunday services, this team of high schoolers is ready to serve and point people to Jesus through the way they live!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Show up at 6pm on Wednesday nights for setup, Huddle at 6:30pm, service at 7pm, and tear down at 8:30pm. Participate in Sunday morning services as well.
    • Frequency: Weekly.
    • High schoolers should be consistently involved in District Youth before applying to Student Leadership.

Worship Roles


  • Musician

    Our District Musicians play a vital role in creating an atmosphere of worship by using their instrumental talents to lead the congregation into God’s presence. This team is committed to excellence, teamwork, and serving with a heart of worship. Responsibilities include arriving prepared, participating in rehearsals, and being a team player.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: All 3 services including Rehearsal at 7am Sunday morning.
    • Frequency: Once or twice a month.
    • Musicians will go through an audition process before being added to the team.
  • Vocalist

    Our District Vocalists lead the congregation in worship by using their voices to sing with passion and purpose. This team strives for vocal excellence, unity, and spiritual preparation, working alongside musicians to help point people to Jesus. Responsibilities include being familiar with set lists, attending rehearsals, and maintaining a worshipful posture.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: All 3 services including Rehearsal at 7am Sunday morning.
    • Frequency: Once or twice a month.
    • Vocalists will go through an audition process before being added to the team.

Production Roles


  • Cameras

    Our Camera Operators help capture the worship experience, ensuring both in-person and online audiences can engage with the service. This team works closely with the Production Team to get the right angles and contribute to an excellent visual experience. No prior experience is necessary—training will be provided!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Two to three services. Arrive 30 min before your scheduled service.
    • Frequency: At least twice a month.
  • Lighting

    Our Lighting Techs enhances the worship experience by creating an engaging atmosphere with dynamic lighting effects. This team works with pre-programmed lighting scenes and executes cues with precise timing to match the flow of the service. Attention to detail and sensitivity to service dynamics are essential. Creative and detail-oriented individuals will thrive here. Training provided!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: All 3 Services. 7am call time for rehearsal.
    • Frequency: At least twice a month.
  • Live Stream

    Our Live Stream Operators makes it possible for our online community to worship and stay connected by operating the live stream equipment and switching cameras for an engaging broadcast. This team focuses on delivering a smooth, distraction-free experience for viewers. Training is provided, so no prior experience is required!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: All 3 Services. Arrive 1 hour before service for setup.
    • Frequency: At least twice a month.
  • Pro-Presenter

    Our Pro-Presenter Operators ensures all lyrics, videos, and visuals are displayed seamlessly during the service. This role supports worship and teaching by providing on-screen content for in-person and online audiences. A focus on timing and attention to detail is essential. Training is provided for those new to ProPresenter.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: All 3 Services. 7am call time for rehearsal.
    • Frequency: At least twice a month.

Creative Roles


  • Social Media

    Our Social Media Team helps give a small glimpse of what District is like on our social platforms. People often encounter District digitally before stepping foot on campus, so this team helps to give a feel for what someone can experience here - from IG story coverage to capturing footage for reels. No experience required but a natural eye for capturing moments is always helpful!


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: At least two back-to-back services. Be present long enough to capture bits of multiple services as well as in between services.
    • Frequency: Once a month.
  • Photo/Video (Sundays)

    The Photo/Video Team helps us tell the story of what God is doing through District by capturing moments, sharing stories of transformation, and visually displaying who we are and what we're about. The Sunday Morning Team specifically helps capture photo and b-roll both in service and in between services.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: All 3 Services. Show up 15 minutes prior to service. Feel free to come to 7am rehearsal to get camera settings dialed if needed.
    • Frequency: Once a month preferred.
    • No editing required. Dump photos and b-roll into a provided Google Drive folder following services.
    • Some experience/knowledge of cameras preferred.
  • Photo/Video (Weekdays or Saturdays)

    The Photo/Video Team helps us tell the story of what God is doing through District by capturing moments, sharing stories of transformation, and visually displaying who we are and what we're about. The Weekday/Saturday Team specifically will help cover events such as Small Group gatherings, Local Outreach events, Family Nights, and other non-Sunday events.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Varies per event.
    • Frequency: As available per event.
    • No editing required. Dump photos and b-roll into a provided Google Drive folder following the event.
    • Some experience/knowledge of cameras preferred.
    • If you have the ability, you can edit b-roll footage into a recap reel.

Small Group Roles


  • Small Group Leader

    Our Small Group Leaders help to create an environment where people can connect to true, Jesus-centered community. They serve as mentors and facilitators, guiding group discussions, organizing activities, and ensuring members feel supported and connected.

    • Times: Varies per group.
    • Frequency: Varies per group.
  • Small Group Admin

    Our Small Group Admins help with the behind-the-scenes systems to keep Groups running smoothly. This primarily includes calendaring, communication, and data entry at the beginning of each group sprint.

    • Times: Varies based on season.
    • Frequency: Primary work happens at the beginning of each sprint, 3 times a year.

Local Outreach Roles


  • Local Outreach Team

    Our Local Outreach Team will be added to a contact list that will regularly receive various outreach opportunities in our local area. From there, this team can register per event based on availability and interest.

    • Times: Varies based on specific Outreach events.
    • Frequency: Varies based on available Outreach events.
  • Drivers

    Our Drivers are trusted to haul supplies in our mobile dream center, pull mobile showers, and bring necessities to our local community in need. This team will be trained to drive our vehicles and have the opportunity to help several other Outreach teams.

Global Outreach Roles


  • Missions Trip Team Leader

    Our Global Missions Trip Team Leaders organize trips with our trusted, Christ-centered partners to bring hope to the ends of the earth. These leaders have a mission to minister to the people in the country they're visiting as well as the team they build and lead.


    Commitment Level:

    • Times: Varies; be available for meetings leading up to the trip as well as the actual trip.
    • Frequency: Varies; be available for meetings leading up to the trip as well as the actual trip.
