About this group
The Bible - ongoing tour of the text from Genesis to Revelation.
Rich images and stories fill the pages of our bibles, but they come from a time and culture very different from our own. The authors of the bible were from ancient cultures and Hebrew (“eastern”), and they were initially writing to ancient eastern audiences, while we live in a modern culture that is primarily Greek (“western”), with likely quite different worldviews than the people of the Bible.
Engaging with popular resources like Bema Podcast and Bible Project, participants can expect a deep dive into the text as we tour through our Bibles from front to back with more of an ancient “Hebraic” lens. A lens which might help the entire text come alive and perhaps help us discover more about who God is, who we are, and what’s our calling.
Psalm 1 – Blessed is the one whose delight is in the torah (teaching, word, instruction) of the Lord, and on His torah he meditates day and night.
“Hagah” is the Hebrew word for “meditate” and can mean “mutter, tear, growl or even wrestle”, like a lion with its prey. Come “hagah” the text with us! We'll continue our sojourn through the entire text as we dig into Leviticus this session. We meet in person at church and online for remote participants. Shalom!
