Alternatives Pregnancy Center is a non-profit women’s medical health clinic licensed by the State of California. Founded in 1983, Alternatives is dedicated to meeting the medical, emotional, material, and spiritual needs of women facing unplanned pregnancies. By offering hopeful alternatives to the abortion choice, Alternatives is committed to empowering families in the Sacramento area and enabling them to build positive futures.
The licensed medical professionals and the specially trained volunteer Client Advocates provide pregnancy services, including pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, nursing consultations, STD testing and treatment, Abortion Pill Reversal Services, Prenatal Care, and Well-Woman Visits. The Education Center at APC also offers prenatal, lactation, and parenting classes, as well as maternal and infant assistance.
Our Legacy would be to provide another exam space so they can serve more women in need. Check out their site HERE.
We’re seeing weekends that are flirting with 900 people in attendance and we want to create more opportunities for people to have a place to sit. Retractable seating would bring just that. We’d go from 360 seats in the room to 575 seats. This would allow us to go back to 2 services until growth forces us back into 3. This seating would be retractable so we could continue to have events on the floor and have basketball and other activities in there as well.
Our parking and other spaces can accommodate this growth and so we’re super excited to see this dream become a reality!
This is an all generations focus with an emphasis on the next generation.
We want to create and finish the new Kid’s District check in area. We’re theming this generational space to encourage kids to check out of this very digital world, and take a step back in time and dig for buried treasures in God’s word. We believe the ages of K-4th grade are imperative in their lives to develop a love for God’s word and get it in their hearts. This entrance would be a nod at our local history with gold mining and the pony express. It would be sight, sound, smell, and experiential on every level. We want to captivate their imaginations for God’s glory.
The main space would be the gathering space for our youth ministries as well. It would be a place for Small Groups as well. This wold also finish out indoor/outdoor spaces for youth, kids, and small groups.
We would also have a way finding package in this. Wayfinding is all the signage that points people in the right direction. From parking to finding where to check-in kids and more…this is way finding.
Our heart is to be ready at all times to serve those in our region that need a hand. These showers could potentially serve firefighters and families that have been displace due to fires or power outages.
They would also be part of our Mobile Dream Center Outreaches and a great way to serve those who are homeless that need hand up to get cleaned up.
We would make these available to serve in any way we possibly could!
We want to invest in our student run non-profit coffee shop. They’re wanting a permanent structure that can house what they’re doing and create a space that is cover and contained. We’re looking into a shipping container that could serve in this way and create an experience for their guest and our guest alike.
Our Mobile Dream Center was one of our original Legacy purchases. It has the ability to serve as an outreach vehicle in many ways. This has incredible potential to take the church outside of the 4 walls and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
This will also serve in the area of disaster relief efforts for people who have been displaced and/or are serving the least of these.
We’re wanting to finish the original design of this and have a foldable stage put on the side of the MDC. We’ll also add sound options to this as well.
We’ll continue with our efforts to plant life-giving churches and support kingdom building organizations across the country. We currently give over $100,000 annually to these efforts and are increasing it slightly for a future church plant in El Dorado County. Our church planting partnerships are with ARC and Covenant.
Through our partnership with Agape International Missions (AIM) we’ll build 3 homes that will provide housing for young girls that are rescued from the Human Trafficking epidemic that is happening.
Agape International Missions has been focused on stopping the cycle of sex trafficking and exploitation in Cambodia by preventing human trafficking and rescuing, restoring, and reintegrating survivors.
Through our partnership with The Rice Foundation we’ll complete 6 more roofs on this trip in March. Each roof costs $800. We’ll provide the labor and roofing for families to get coverage for their homes.
We have an opportunity to work with our partner, the Rice Foundation in Copan, Honduras. Our Legacy giving will be used for three critical needs in their community. Our mission team serving the community in January will be able to work alongside our local partners. Your donation will provide:
Though our Partnership with Hope of Life and World Help we’ll be able to go and serve the village we transformed in 2019. This trip would be a medical focused trip. It would allow us continued impact with our village and the 52 kids we’ve sponsored within our church. We would serve our village and the surrounding villages. The cost of this trip is set aside to provide for basic medical supplies that might be needed.
Thousands of Peruvian villages lack infrastructure … including Momoncillo.
Clean water is one of the most fundamental needs for this village. We will provide two wells and water purification systems that will supply sufficient water to the village. This will begin our complete Village Transformation in Peru with a goal of completing a school and church in 2021.
Our partner has an opportunity to remodel and transform several buildings into a maternity ward and medical clinic in this area of Uganda. These medical facilities would provide care and delivery for pregnant women, offer service to new mothers and young children, and provide general dental and optical examinations. Both the medical clinic and maternity ward will greatly reduce the mortality rate of expecting mothers and babies in this particular area, and they will serve as a source of practical evangelism to thousands of people who will frequent these medical facilities. An ambulance would also be provided to transport the more serious medical cases to a larger hospital.
Our partner purchased two acres of land that house two large, partially constructed buildings and several smaller buildings. All are in need of repair and renovation, but can be transformed into the necessary medical facilities.
Medical teams from the maternity ward will visit the schools and communities to educate the young girls on the importance of self-respect, healthy living, and the dangers of being sexually active.
The medical clinic will be available to care for general health issues and will be equipped with dental and optical areas. A 120ftx 50ft building will be renovated for this clinic. There are also three smaller buildings on the property that will be refurbished into homes for the medical staff and faculty. The fence around the compound is also in need of repairs and will be fixed to provide better security. A separate bathroom will also be constructed in the compound.
